ISUZU strives to provide educational opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEMS) subjects. Promoting STEMS subjects and making them easily accessible to disadvantage communities through training and education.

ISUZU Chair in Mechatronics was established to support the bachelor’s degree (BEng) in Mechatronics at Nelson Mandela University, which is the only 4-year Degree in Engineering in the Eastern Cape. It is a platform for international engagement, mentorship and practical industry research and development with BEng in Mechatronics. It has facilitated the completion of numerous projects to date and boasts a strong project pipeline. Students develop and design real-world industrial projects where they develop practical skills that serve them well in the job market. The aim of the programme is to increase the pass rate of engineering students through mentorship, as well as to provide general support for students in adapting to University life, especially those come from previously disadvantaged communities.
Govan Mbeki Mathematics Development Centre
ISUZU Motors South Africa partners with Mandela University’s MobiTutorZA Academy programme to help grade 12 learners ace their Mathematics subject.The entire matric mathematics classes at Ethembeni Enrichment Centre, Paterson High and St Thomas High along with an additional 15 past learners outside of these schools who failed matric mathematics and are repeating the subject now have access to Mandela University’s MobiTutorZA Academy, and the broad range of teaching and learning resources offered through its structured programme, which is available both online and offline.
Missionvale Care Centre
ISUZU Motors South Africa believes that education is key, through our support, learners from Normoyle Primary School participate in Mathematics extra classes programme which is set to assist the learners to improve their Mathematics results. Most of the learners are from previously disadvantage communities and this provide additional support so that they have the foundation needed to master the subject. The school further provides hope, education, care, nourishment, uniforms, and a protected playground for children of Missionvale. The Care Centre helps parents enrol their children in Grade R-7.
Gift of the Givers
ISUZU Motors South Africa (IMSAf) has made a commitment to support Pietermaritzburg-based humanitarian aid organisation Gift of the Givers to reach remote locations in South Africa, where they provide critical disaster relief. ISUZU Motors South Africa has donated three trucks, fitted with water tanks and they are used for water relief efforts in nine areas in the Eastern Cape. The three ISUZU trucks have transported over 5,85 million litres of water to destitute communities across South Africa. With this partnership, many communities are now left with safe drinking water to use for their daily household needs.
